Someone asked me the other day if I had any regrets in life. Without
hesitation I smiled and said, "Yes. I regret being so shy." See, I was the
girl that would stay home on a Friday night because I was too shy to call
the 'cool' girl who gave me her number and said we should hang out. I was
the shy exchange student in Australia who fainted and fell off the podium
infront of the entire school during an oral presentation. I was the quiet
girl who sat at the back of the classroom praying that the teacher would not
call my name to read out loud. And the one day that I heard my name, I was
mortified. We were in science class learning about organisms. My nerves got
the better of me, and when I started to read I could not think straight.
"This tree diagram shows the relationships between several groups of
ORGASMS." Oh lord! I wish I could have crawled under a rock and hid for
life!
One night I was invited to a Hanky Panky party where I was basically hit
over the head & dragged there. Again, my shyness was taking over. I made a
million excuses up of why I could not attend, but my friend would not budge!
At first I sat there very nervous and closed minded and wondered what the
hell I was doing there. I couldn't even walk into a sex shop! But as soon as
the presentation started, my closed mind had suddenly awakened, and at the
end of the night I was headed to the order room. I was completely
overwhelmed with choices of things to buy, so I figured I would get one of
everything. It was the best $300 I have spent! And a year and a half later,
I am pleased to say that I am now a Hanky Panky consultant.
I think being so shy prevented me from doing a lot of things in life that
I wanted to do. But since becoming a Hanky Panky consultant my life has
changed in more ways then one. For me, it's not about the money I make. I
won't lie, the extra money is a nice bonus, but it has given me so much
more. It not only brought me back together with one of my best friends, but
it's given me so many new friends. It is such a great feeling to know that
at the end of the night I have helped someone find a product they needed to
put a spark back in their relationship or that I've helped their own sexual
frustrations and curiosities. It's given me the ability to discover my own
sexual attractiveness and awareness, for which my husband loves! But most
importantly, it has allowed me to overcome my fear of public speaking and
the fear of meeting new people. I will admit, I get nervous before each
show, but as soon as I say, "Hi my name is Ashley and I am a Hanky Panky
consultant," I can feel the smile on my face, and I know that I have my life in control, and the
ability and confidence to do anything I desire.
